Description

Explore the zenith of the Sierra Madre Mountains

Journey into the history and culture of the Oaxaca region during your two-day getaway aboard a deluxe coach, starting at your Huatulco resort. The first stop of your Oaxaca overnight tour is San Jose del Pacifico, the highest point of the Sierra Madre Mountains.

Up next, visit the village of San Bartolo Coyotepec, famous for its artisanal black pottery. Walk around, snap some pictures and pick up authentic souvenirs. Then, arrive at Oaxaca, the capital city of the state with the same name. Enjoy delicious local food at a typical Mexican bistro meal at any of the local restaurants (not included in the cost of the excursion). Conclude the first half of your excursion by spending the night at a hotel in downtown Oaxaca.

Experience archaeological sites on your Oaxaca overnight tour

The next day, discover and learn more about the cultural traditions of this magical area with a visit to the ruins of Monte Alban. A close drive from the city of Oaxaca, Monte Alban is the most sacred and ancient city of the Zapotecs, one of the area’s largest pre-Hispanic civilizations.

Later, return to the city of Oaxaca for a tour of the Santo Domingo Church, baroque temples, civil buildings from the colonial period and regional museums. Two unforgettable days of tradition, culture and authentic Mexican cuisine will wrap up with your ride back to your Huatulco resort, giving you more spectacular views of the area’s mountains and coastline along the way.
