Description

Dive Las Caletas’ reef-filled bay

Your diving excursion takes off either from Puerto Vallarta at Maritime Terminal or from Nuevo Vallarta at Vallarta Adventures' Center. Whether you’re a certified card-carrying diver or a non-certified diver, this scuba adventure takes you to dive Las Caletas, an unspoiled cove only accessible by tour operators. The ecosystem at Las Caletas is so untouched, divers will find an average visibility of 60 feet. You’ll see beautiful coral reefs filled with hundreds of colorful fish, and you could even spot sea turtles and manta rays on this diving expedition.


A diving paradise for all skill levels

Diving Las Caletas is especially suitable for guests with a range of abilities. Certified divers can amaze themselves in depths as low as 80 feet. Non-certified and new divers can enjoy the shallower waters ranging from 25 to 40 feet. Children as young as 10 may also join in on the fun, which features one dive master to every three divers for a safe experience. The warm water of the bay ranges from 65 to 89 degrees, allowing you to wear basic scuba gear, and providing perfect conditions for an ideal day underwater.

Practical Information

  • Divers must hold a valid certification card to participate in our diving programs
  • Non-certified divers need to complete a Discover Scuba pool lesson before their first dive
  • Certified divers who have not dived in the past year will be required to take a scuba refresher course before going to the ocean
  • Supervision is normally 1 Divemaster per 3 diver pairs using the buddy system. If there is an uneven number of guests, a seventh person will be paired with the Divemaster
  • Diving within 18 hours of your flight home or within 18 hours after the last completed dive is not recommended
  • An Acknowledgement of Risk will need to be signed before participating in the dive program
  • All divers must be in good health and not have respiratory, cardiovascular or ear problems
  • All divers must be in good mental and physical condition for diving
  • Divers under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to participate
  • Minimum age: 10 years old
  • Pregnant women are not allowed to participate
