Start your unforgettable whale shark swimming adventure with a check-in at Marina Punta Norte, where you'll grab a light snack before embarking. Depart from the marina and embark on a scenic transfer to the immersion point. Upon arrival at the immersion point, you'll spend a few minutes preparing for your snorkeling experience, including a thorough safety briefing provided by expert guides. Dive into the crystal-clear waters and swim alongside the majestic whale sharks, observing these gentle giants up close.

Whale sharks are the largest fish in the world, reaching up to 12 meters in length. Despite their size, they are gentle creatures, feeding mainly on plankton, small fish, and crustaceans by filtering water through their large mouths. Their distinctive skin, adorned with unique spots and stripes, allows for individual identification. These patterns are not only mesmerizing but also crucial for scientific studies.

Whale sharks are known for their calm demeanor, making them safe to swim with. Their behavior includes slow, graceful movements, and they often seem indifferent to the presence of humans. Explore Vibrant Reefs and Enjoy a Delicious Lunch at Playa Norte
Following the whale shark encounter, transfer to a nearby reef. Once there, you'll have time to snorkel and explore the vibrant marine life in the reef's ecosystem. After snorkeling, head to Playa Norte in Isla Mujeres, one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico and the world, where you'll enjoy a delicious ceviche lunch on board. Relax and take in the serene surroundings while anchored in the beautiful waters of Playa Norte, with some free time to swim or simply unwind on the boat.

Finally, begin your transfer back to Marina Punta Norte for disembarkation. This carefully planned itinerary ensures you make the most of your time in the water and on board, providing a comprehensive and memorable experience.

Practical Information

Bring your swimsuit on. Wear a hat or cap that fits snugly to avoid it being blown away by the wind.
Preferably wear a rash guard to protect yourself from the sun, as sunscreen is harmful to whale sharks.
Use waterproof protection for phones and devices.
A dock tax of USD 20 per person must be paid directly at the marina counter.
Bring extra money for tips and photo services (both are optional).

SAFETY INFORMATION

All participants must sign the liability waiver and follow the instructions of the guides and the corresponding authorities.
It is mandatory that all those participating in the dives know how to swim properly in open water conditions.
Snorkeling alone, leaving the designated area, and/or going ahead of the guide is not permitted.
Children under 10 years old are not allowed on the tour.
All minors and people over 65 years must always be accompanied by a guardian or tutor.
People who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, have heart problems, asthma, or chronic diseases, and those who have recently undergone surgery are not allowed to participate in this activity.
This activity is not permitted during pregnancy.
Note that this activity requires extended time navigating in open sea, which may cause sea sickness.
